News: What was the start of all this? When did the cogs of fate begin to turn? Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now, from deep within the flow of time... But, for a certainty, back then, we loved so many, yet hated so much. We hurt others and were hurt ourselves... Yet even then we ran like the wind, whilst our laughter echoed, under cerulean skies...

The only rule for this topic is that you listen to both songs, even if you've heard them before. It makes it a more fair contest that way. It would also be appreciated if you posted why you voted for a certain song, so that the contest isn't just a bland progression forward with no discussion or commentary.

"Bloody Tears" from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

"Rebellion" from BlazBlue

So this it, the final battle.

As noted in previous topics, I love both of these songs to death.

Bloody Tears is just perfectly eerie and instrumentally sound throughout the entire song. A lot of people thing its the greatest Castlevania song of all time, which is saying a lot, considering just how many classic songs that series has pumped out. I think if it was going up against any other song in this contest but Rebellion, I'd be voting for Bloody Tears.

But Rebellion is just too damn good. The first time I heard it I had chills going down my spine. It stands out in an album full of excellent songs as the best. The only video game song that I can say is equal to Rebellion for me is The Tragic Prince.

So there you have it.

Bloody Tears because it's just so darn classic. I could listen to that song a million times and still hum along.

Rebellion is already a little old to me >.<

Shit this is tough.

From the beginning of this battle, I was pretty sure Rebellion and Bloody Tears would go far. And here they are in the final showdown.

The Castlevania series is one of the longest running series, and each game pumps out some great material. Bloody Tears is a great example of said material.

But then you've got the new up-and-coming contender, BlazBlue. BlazBlue came from Aksys and their buddies; the guys who made Guilty Gear.

The Guilty Gear series had music composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari, and he reprised his role in BlazBlue, pumping out masterpieces of video game music.

And I must say (IMO of course), that BlazBlue has one of the best, if not THE best soundtracks in videogame history. It's up there with greats like Chrono Cross and it's OST.

Rebellion is a masterpiece. And so is nearly every other song in BlazBlue, like Queen of Rose, Under Heaven Destruction, Weak Executioner, Imperial Dance, Thin RED Line, etc.

Bloody Tears is considered the greatest song in the Castlevania series. And like Floyd said, that's saying a lot.

Bloody Tears is deserving of that claim, but in the end, Rebellion comes out on top. Unleash Armagus with the masterpiece known as Rebellion.

lolu

And I must say (IMO of course), that BlazBlue has one of the best, if not THE best soundtracks in videogame history.

I'd say its my second favorite video game soundtrack ever, behind Symphony of the Night's, and those two are the only ones I listen to regularly/have on my MP3 player.

I'm hooked to BlazBlue's soundtrack. I am SO glad I bought the special edition that came with the soundtrack and DVD

cuz I play that soundtrack in my car all the time with it's CD Player

And I often listen to it in the house too, since it's saved on my 360's hard drive. I luv playing BB music in place of other games' music. It works really well sometimes, especially in Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires. Tongue

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS OPINIONS YOU MAY DISAGREE WITH.

By reading this post, you are agreeing to not find Bored and murder him in his sleep, despite what he may say.

Alright...Rebellion. Either I'm just not in a rock mood today, or something else like that, but while I was listening, the only impression I was getting was "BLARGG GUITAR ROCKS HARDCORE", and that was it. To me, it just seemed like it was trying too hard, and got kind of old, even for my first listen of it.

Bloody Tears...it's short. It's simple. But it's so good. I'm not familiar with most of Castlevania's music, but I am a sucker (no pun intended) for more mystical and...epic (I guess that's the word I'm thinking of) songs. Plus I love organ stuff, though that ties into my previous statement.

So, out of these two, I'm going to vote for Bloody Tears. Hopefully there will be another VG Music battle, because I've got a couple in mind that will hopefully go farther, but what happens will happen.

Anyways, that's my opinion.
